Guide
A simple daily hydration routine
Most people don't need a complicated plan to drink water. What helps is a routine: a few familiar moments in the day when you reach for a glass. This guide covers easy hydration habits, how reminders can help, and how the Super Health water-drinking ritual fits in.
Why water matters
According to the CDC, water helps keep body temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, protects sensitive tissues, and helps the body get rid of waste. Plain water also has no calories.
How much you need varies with activity, weather, age, diet, pregnancy, and health. Other drinks and water-rich foods count too. If a healthcare professional has given you a fluid limit, follow it.
Hydration habits that are easy to keep
- Pair a glass of water with something you already do: waking up, meals, or a work break.
- Keep a glass or bottle where you can see it.
- Drink a little more when it's hot or you're active.
- Choose water over sugary drinks when you can.
Hydration reminders
A reminder can help a new habit stick until it becomes automatic. Super Health members can turn on a weekly email reminder from their dashboard, which nudges you to return to your ritual.
The ten-second water-drinking ritual
Our ritual adds a short pause to a glass you were going to drink anyway: lift the glass, hold it for ten seconds, offer thanks or praise to a higher power if you wish, then drink at your own pace. It's a moment of gratitude and personal reflection — not a medical treatment — and there's no need to drink extra water for it.
